| Hamamelis x intermedia 'Sunburst' |
In addition to the Hamamelis, Galanthus elwesii is in full bloom.
There are several good stands of the giant snowdrop scattered about the woodland garden, but the squirrels appear to dislike the idea of them growing in front of the sculpture. I'm happy to report the replanted bulb in full bloom appears to be no worse for the experience.
On a personal note, I apologize to all the wonderful garden bloggers whose posts I should be reading but haven't had time lately. Jury duty and a major project have been occupying my time, but I promise, come April, I will be eager to indulge in one of my favorite indoor pastimes, reading about others' triumphs and tribulations in the garden.
This year Squirrelhaven is living up to Elizabeth Lawrence's quote about having something blooming every month of the year. Visit her devotee Carol at May Dreams Gardens to find a list of all the Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day posts.

Lovely post Barb. The witch hazel is dazzling and I look with envy on the snowdrops. xogail
That witchy bloom is beautiful. I love snowdrops too. Mine seemed to have thinned. I don'tknow if squirrels or the gardener is to blame. Happy GBBD.
I love seeing happy blooms in your garden, MMD, especially in February! Those snowdrops make me drool. I am glad you have one going by the sculpture, hope this is the beginning of a large swath of them there.

A mild winter here but not so mild that anything seems to be happening outdoors — yet!
Beautiful blooms, especially in light of the snow! LOVE the Witch Hazel...so jealous!

Your snowdrops are stunning! It has been a strange winter...my daffodils are blooming already.
This certainly has been a strange February, but it's so nice to see some real blooms this month for a change. Love the witch hazel, and I'm envious of all those snowdrops. Happy Bloom Day!
So enjoyable to see a little bit of snow with a promise of spring. Lovely Hamamelis, that was always my mother's favorite this time of year. Happy bloom day!
Send those blooms on this way please. Still nothing in sight in Rhode Island. It won't be long now as I noticed just a touch of color on the witch hazel and green sprouts on the snowdrops.
I have got to put in some snowdrops again. They are such a welcome sight in the winter garden.
