It's the 15th of the month, the day that Carol, of May Dreams Gardens, asks us to show what's blooming in our gardens. It wouldn't be June in Chicagoland without peonies, Clematis and Campanulas.

The Calycanthus floridus 'Athens' is still blooming and scenting the garden.
Clematis 'Fairy Blue' (Crystal Fountain) has spread into the Calycanthus. I hope it doesn't get smothered.

Phlox pilosa 'Eco Happy Traveler'
(Thanks, Nan Ondra.) Towering above them are the last blooms of Baptisia 'Midnight Prairie Blues'
a free trial plant that I just love. It's in its second year here.
The long border is in full bloom now.

Campanula persicifolia 'Grandiflora Alba' and 'Telham Blue' with Heuchera 'Raspberry Ice' and Campanula 'Sarastro'
All the Astrantias are blooming now.

Penstemon "Fairegarden"
Making its Bloom Day debut is Geranium 'Jolly Bee'.

Also making its Bloom Day debut is a Knautia.
Sorry, no name for this one at this time. I had it in a container last summer, then stuffed it in the ground and forgot about it. Shame on me. I'll have to track down the tag when I get a chance. That chartreuse background is the foliage of Cotinus coggrygia 'Ancot' (Golden Spirit). While not technically a bloom,
the seed heads are more showy. Also not technically a bloom are the bracts of Cornus kousa 'Beni-fuji' with the fallen petals of the just finished Paeonia 'Port Royale'.
This has been a spectacular year for this little tree.
And here it is, the promised 'Blue Moon'
in full bloom, Wisteria macrostachys 'Blue Moon'. What's blooming in your garden?
Also in bloom:
Alchemilla mollis
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Woodside Blue'
Astrantia 'Moulin Rouge'
Astrantia 'Rainbow Loveliness'
Brunnera 'Jack Frost'
Callirhoe involucrata
Campanula garganica 'Dickson's Gold'
Campanula 'Samantha'
Clematis 'Evipo 31' (Bonanza)
Clematis 'Evisix' (Petit Faucon'
Clematis 'Henryi'
Clematis 'Natascha'
Clematis 'Viola'
Corydalis 'Blackberry Wine'
Corydalis 'ex Du Fu Temple'
Dicentra 'King of Hearts'
Dracocephalum 'Fuji Blue'
Geranium 'Bob's Blunder'

I feel weak from admiration and envy, especially about the clematis. And look at your list of also-rans! What a display. My blooms day post, still in progress, exhibits a paucity of blooms, especially clematis. Enjoy your beautiful garden, MMD.
Such dusky color to those clemmies, MMD, all lovely. The Golden Spirit is knock down drag out gorgeous. And good to see the Penstemon seedlings are thriving there, too. Thanks for the linkage, my dear!
Frances
Such beautiful clematis! What's the plural for that? Clematises? Well, they're all lovely!
You have a wonderful June selection. I always think of Chicago having a similar climate, even a zone colder, but you are ahead in plants blooming. My Campanula not yet. Clematis varieties, some in bloom, others not yet. Yours are quite nice.
Gosh, you blooms make my head spin, Barbara!
Beautiful testimonies to the lovelies in your garden!
Totally knock-me-off-my-feet lovely Barb!
Your clematis - well, wow! And your list makes me quite envious - you evidently have a lot of wonderful things to choose from... what a picture.
Wow, i envy every blue flower, as we seem to have very few flowers with that hue. I think they are more common in temperate climes. And your photos are great, always!
Fabulous flowers everywhere! I particularly liked your Baptisia and your Clematis 'Silver Moon' ... both are just beautiful!
What a wonderful show from your Clematis Vines! Mine were over the top gorgeous this year too. Everywhere I look in your photos is something to swoon over.
The Clematis show is marvelous MrMCD. The border is quite alluring just asking for someone to walk along, glance here and there to see the jewels of the garden sparkling. Happy GBBD.
What beautiful clematis you have, MMD! And I'm always a little jealous of peony blooms like your gorgeous specimens. I planted my first peony this spring, but it looks like I'll have to wait a year before anything blooms. There is so much going on in your garden right now as spring moves into summer--enjoy!
Helen - I'd enjoy it a lot more if mosquitos weren't flying in my face.
Frances - thanks for the penstemons!
ROR - straight from Clematis authority Raymond Evison (I asked him this question), the plural of Clematis is Clematis.
GWGT - only slightly ahead, I had one more Campanula open today, and I'm still waiting on 2 Clematis.
Helen, Shady & Leslie - thank you very much.
beangenie - I take way too many pictures, but I've learned to narrow down the ones I use for posts to give a flavor of what's happening.
Andrea - the summer light in Northern gardens is also more friendly to pale blues than in the south, where they'd end up washed out.
Bernie - I can easily recommend both plants. They are sturdy and healthy, and the Clematis is in partial shade.
Darla - I have to enjoy the Clematis while I can, the earwigs have arrived.
Lisa - the long border is visible from my bedroom window, so even if it's raining or too buggy, I can still enjoy it.
Rose - get more peonies this year. There's nothing like a mature peony, with loads of blooms to be cut & sniffed at leisure inside.
Wow... your garden looks great. I've been looking for a Blue Moon Wisteria... does it really bloom 3-4 times a season? Larry
As always, inspiring photos. I'd better get with it and start taking a class. The clematis is especially stunning.
Another beautiful post...love all those purple Clematis! I totally remember seeing that Phuopsis post on Nan Ondra's website and trying to find them...how is the smell? I've never heard of 'Midnight Prairie Blues', love that deep, deep purple color! Of course, I love Astrantia....Roma is supposed to be one of the absolute best hybrids around...strangely, no one sells it locally...when will they catch up!?! Great post and great plants, as always!
Your Clematis looks great - such vivid colors and thick clusters of blossoms. Very nice. Happy GBBD!
Beautiful photos and a very impressive list indeed! Your clematis are miles ahead of us here in CT - I have been noticing that the kousas are smothered in blooms everywhere this year - I suppose they appreciated the hydrating snow cover into April!
Really lovely photos~It must be a joy to walk your garden! Your clemmies are impressive. gail
Simply Beautiful!
Gorgeous pictures of what is blooming in your garden right now.
I just love the picture of the Baptisia "Midnight Prairie Blues".
Have a wonderful weekend
Paula Jo
Please arrange for a Transporter beam & mosquito spray, Scotty!
June looks like heaven in your garden, MSS.
