See You in Seattle!
Here it is, the official blog of Garden Bloggers' Fling 2011. It's being held July 22-25 in (obviously) Seattle. I've always wanted to go to Seattle and see the gardens there, but the best reason to attend a Fling is to hang out with some of the most fun and friendly people on the planet. I'm looking forward to meeting cohosts Debra Prinzing, Lorene Edwards Forkner, and Marty Wingate. If you've never been to a Fling, don't worry about not knowing anyone. I knew no one when I went to my first Fling and came home with lots of new friends. You will too. I'll even sit next to you on the bus if you want.

I'm really looking forward to this, I'm going to need someone to sit next to, because this will be my first and I don't know anyone.
Do you know if there's a way to create a badge in a gadget on the side with a live link?
Oh yes to this, MMD! We loved meeting you at the first fling in Austin, we had both only been blogging a very short time but made the leap to meet other bloggers IN PERSON! What a delightful and life changing decision that was. We didn't know a soul, and it was like long lost friends as soon as we met everyone. Gardening plus blogging are such a bond. To anyone feeling unsure, please come. We want to meet you, too. :-)
Frances
Should be fun!
I was so happy when I finally found the Facebook page about this year's Fling, and now I'm going to check out the official blog. I've only been to the Chicago Fling, but what an experience! My plan is to go to Seattle, then afterwards take the short flight down to Portland to visit youngest Daughter. I'm crossing my fingers that she doesn't plan to move before that weekend.
Alison - If you're on Blogger, just take the photo and use the photo gadget. Under link on the add gadget thing, put in the link for the blog. If you're on Wordpress, Kathy Purdy is sending a link to Lorene to share with everyone to add the picture with a link. And I'd be happy to sit next to you.
Frances - It was an instant connection, and for someone who is shy like me, an instant comfort zone.
ROR - I hope you can come to this one.
@Alison, I have been helping Lorene with the code. I don't think the correct version is up yet (the image will link to Photobucket) but it will be soon.
I sure hope I can finally make it to one of these flings. I've been wanting to go to one every year. Sigh. At least this one is during the summer so I won't have to worry about what to do with the kids. Grandma's house! I wonder when hubby's vacation is...
I wouldn't miss it. See you then, MMD!
I'm looking forward to meeting the people behind the blogs. I remember reading about the last 2 and they looked so fun. I really lucked out since I don't have to travel to this one.
I wish I could go! I'm going to be busy getting ready to send my daughter off to college. :-(
But I hope to make it to a future fling!
A friend and I are thinking seriously of attending. Gotta get the funds together.
I had so much fun meeting you at the last one! I'll see you again in Seattle. Can't wait.
Cinj - I hope you can make this one too. But bring hubby along only if he really likes gardens. :^)
Pam - it'll be great to see you again.
Catherine - It's great fun to meet other bloggers. I'm looking forward to meeting you. It's both good and bad to have the Fling in your city. Good, you're right there, bad, you don't get to eat breakfast with everybody at the hotel.
PlantPostings - family always comes first. But there's always next year.
What if I don't want to sit next to you on the bus?
