Semi-Wordless, Wildflower Wednesday

Liatris spicata and Echinacea purpurea are both popular with butterflies. Can you see that freaky, long butterfly tongue? Liatris and Echinacea are common plants of the tall grass prairie. For more Wildflower Wednesday, visit Gail at Clay and Limestone.

And now for something completely different, The Bizarro Garden Awards.

Wow, nice butterfly shot! I am not quick enough with the camera. I've seen these cool butterflies in the garden, but by the time I have the camera out, it flies away so fast!

Great shot, MMD! And the perfect reason to grow natives.

Pretty, so pretty. I have been watching 3 tiger butterflies devour my Butterfly bushes all morning long. They are still going at it now...

My Liatris has been struggling along the past two years. I think the Vole is getting to the roots. I am thinking of moving it to a new spot...

Cool shot MMD. I could imagine my garden without Coneflowers & Liatris. :)
