This has to be the most difficult of all the Gardening Gone Wild "Picture This" photo contests. I mean, how do you choose a single best frame? My photos are like my children or pets, how can I say which I prefer, when I love them equally, and they are so different. It was inevitable that my best shot would be of the tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ofuji-nishiki'), as I have taken more photos of it than anything else. I could have agonized over this for another 20 days. It depended on my mood, which image most appealed to me. So, as of right now, and only now, this is my favorite shot.

It is a beauty!
It is a fantastic photo...nicely com positioned...is that a word????)) Gorgeous intensity of color...
Dear Mr.McD, Although I do not, as I think that you know, possess a camera, I can totally sympathise with your thoughts on producing your 'best' single image. It is, as you say, rather like choosing between one's children - territory into which one should not at any time stray.
However, both the picture and colour of your peony are absolutely lovely and are a pleasure to look at.
Gorgeous! I am still trying to figure out how to do this, meaning sending it to them, without it being attached to an email.
Eileen
It is a gorgeous shot, and the other entrants will have to work hard to beat that.
Perfect shot. Gorgeous! H.
I love it and wish you luck. You are right about the contest. I don't how anyone can choose a best shot if they take lots of photos.
And, a beautiful shot it is! I had to laugh, because I have trouble making decisions like that. We bought our daughter-in-law 3 tree peonies for mother's day and part of her birthday, but she hasn't taken them yet. She said they need to work on some drainage issues first.
Happy first day of summer!
Oh, it's a good one! I agree, it's so tough to choose. That is why I don't even try... Good luck to you!
I can see why you chose this one--it's lovely! This has to be the most difficult assignment yet from GGW.
That's a great photo! Like you, I could never pick one favorite.
Marnie
Great Choice..I love it too!
It's a beautiful shot, and definitely a difficult decision!
Barbara, I agree...that is one gorgeous peony and you've captured its essence so well here! This month's contest is going to be a killer for the judge! I wish us all luck!
It's a gorgeous photo! Best of luck!
Beautiful! That really is an amazing photo!
(I actually submitted my best shot ever to the Spring Fling contest and it wasn't even mentioned, so I'll wait skip this contest.)
This is my first visit here, and I can see that I will definitely be back. WOW!! Your photo is fabulous. Very nicely done.

Obviously a winner, MMD! I sigh with delight at this vision, the color and form are perfection and perfectly captured by your able lens. Good luck with the contest! :-)
Frances
ps, I am over the moon about your lily baby bud! None here, so far.
