Wisteria macrostachys 'Blue Moon'
Because I missed last month's end of the month garden views, I've decided to do a comparison post with similar scenes from the end of April and the end of May.
We'll start at the street.

The Physocarpus 'Monlo' (Diablo™) is just coming out of bloom, while Rose 'Carefree Beauty' is in full bloom.
The view from above back towards the woodland garden:

The plant in the white pot is a purple-leaved cabbage.

We got the fountain up and running.

The containers which were empty and out front in April are now filled with plants and in their summer positions.

That's a Primula japonica blooming in the container. I'm tickled that it made it through the winter in the ground and bloomed in the container.

Halfway down the path, looking back:

I would have liked to have oriented the camera the same way for both, but the mosquitoes are so bad now, I'll take what I can get for a shot.

The southeast corner with the old reliable Peony, which I have tentatively identified as 'Mons. Jules Elie.'

Some people call it the Memorial Day Peony because it always seems to be in bloom on Memorial Day, regardless of the weather.

The view from behind the Peony.

Sorry it's so shadowy, but I can only take it for so long at dawn before the mosquitoes chase me in. Clematis 'Blue Fairy' (Crystal Fountain™) was fantastic this year in its first flush.

And finally, the view from the patio:

Clematis 'Betty Corning' is growing like a jungle vine this year.

Thanks goes to Helen, the Patient Gardener, for suggesting posting photos of garden views at the end of every month.

It's always amazing what a difference a few weeks can make in a garden~and it's looking lovely in yours... The clemmie is beautiful. Thanks for dealing with the mosquitoes to share these photos! gail
I enjoyed the before and afters. What a difference a few weeks of spring can make in a garden!
Love the side by side photos! Things change so quickly this time of year...
Totally awesome and unbelievable the difference a month makes!
Such a beautiful garden ... I hope you can do something about the mosquitoes so you can enjoy it more often!
I would say the difference is very noticable! Very pretty gardens you have there!I love the splashes of color here and there.
What a great idea...and what a difference! Great photos.
Now about those pesky mozzies...have you tried using a strong lemon scented soap when you bathe? That really helps. (no hairspray and no perfume type shampoo..) Use strong herbal oils on your skin. Hope that helps..nothing worse than a mozzie invasion when you really just want to enjoy your garden!
What a great idea to do the comparison! I think I may try that. Beautiful garden.
I love these before and after photos. I really like all your garden areas, but particularly the woodland garden. Spring is really spectacular in those last two photos!
Those pesky mosquitoes can make a stroll through your lovely garden a trial. I enjoyed seeing how the garden has filled in through these past weeks. It is a good idea to take these photos.
Thanks for the tour round your garden, luckily I wasn't bothered by the mosquitos.
It's amazing how quickly our gardens grow at this time of year, isn't it?
BTW your fountain is looking good!!!
This was a very cool way to show the changes in your garden. Thanks!
Awesome! I love these end-of-the-month views, what a great idea to keep a record of these. I'm going to have to pick a couple of good sight lines and join you.
That is an excellent idea, wish I remembered to do it. A month makes a huge difference in our gardens. BTW, your new fountain looks great.

Your garden is so lush and green--a feast for the eyes, especially on a hot day.
What a difference a month makes! Everything is so green and beautiful. And thanks for the reminder about my own time-lapse photos. Must get on that.
It's so cool to see the progression in just one month!
I loved seeing those two kind of shots. Everything looks like it's doing great. I can sympathize with the mosquito problem. Every morning when I go out to water the potted plants (which need it now that it's regularly in the 90s), I have to spray myself. I hate doing that but if I don't, I'm just eaten up. Keep up the monthly look-backs; they're very enjoyable!
Whenever i look at the gardens in the temperate climates, it always seem easy to grow plants. Every after winter they always grow healthy and beautiful, as in yours. Here,it is the opposite. It seems we have to put a lot of labor before we can see the beautiful gardens, because we have to really sweat it out if we want nice gardens. Humidity and heat don't leave us all year round. After all those things are said, my final word is i like your house! hehe.
I love love love looking at these before and after pics!
