Red, Green and Blue

Photographer David Perry has given a new assignment just for fun, a color study of one photo of each color red, green and blue. Here's what I found around the house.

I had so much fun photographing the Paperwhite Narcissus roots in the blue vase, that I got a bit carried away. I'll be posting more of those soon.

Very nice. That's a good exercise (and excuse) for us to pick up our cameras when everything outside is white!

Lisa - Christmas ornaments are about the only colorful things around here right now. I'm hoping my Amaryllis will start blooming when the decorations come down.

Mary Anne - at this time of year, indoor inspiration is the way to go.

Thanks, MA! I wish I could have done plants, as you did.

Robin - thanks, that's the only green ornament I have.

Gail - setting up the little makeshift studio is very fun.

Thanks, Layanee!

ROR - I really dislike the current green I'm seeing on wrapping paper & ornaments for Christmas. It's not a bad shade, but it doesn't say "Christmas" like this green does.

Darla - I'm so glad you like the roots, as I'm going to post more photos of them.

Gosh, these are simply gorgeous! I love colour, and alwways wonder why some people seem to be afraid of it.

Very nice. Reds is a color that my Canon camera does not reproduce well. My red flower photos are always 'off'.

what fun. I'm going to have to take a walk around my house. I love your red bow - but I'm always a sucker for red.

They look beautiful. I like your choices. Course blue is my favorite.

Wow, these are great, MMD! You have quite an artistic eye. The blue vase has to be my favorite, but then blue is my favorite color. Looks like those paperwhites are thriving.

A welcome splash of color! And I love the tight, frame-filling shots. Thanks also for introducing me to David Perry's blog; I hadn't been there before.

Hi MMD! What powerful color statements you've made! I believe you've sent me to his blog before (not long ago?). Have a great week! "See you" next year! ha.

Great vivid colors during this somewhat colorless time of year. Happy New Year!

Jodi - I'm such a sucker for color. Maybe it was all those hours I spent in a paint store growing up.

Marnie - my camera has trouble with red too. It makes it to glary, if you know what I mean.

CW - If it hadn't been Christmastime, I'd have been hard pressed to find any red. It's just a color I don't use in the house.

Thanks, Sweet Bay & Patient Gardener.

Anna - I never would have guessed. ;^)

Rose - Paperwhites are such no brainers, even I can grow them.

Diane - prepare to be very inspired. David Perry's blog is awesome.

Shady - right, next year!

Barbara - this was the perfect antidote for all the snow outside.

HM - thanks for the good wishes!
